Evangelism & Outreach

Anyone interested in being part of our Outreach Ministry or learning how to share the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ should contact Pastor Bill Sturm at bsturm.bbc @ gmail.com or call the church at 910.868.5156 for more information.

Outreach

Monthly:  September 24th, at 9am, we will meet at the church and have breakfast.  Following breakfast, we will split into teams and take an hour to make a visit or two.  How can you serve?

  • You can make a visit. We would love to team newer visiting partners with those who have done it a few times and are comfortable leading a visit.
  • You can work in the nursery for this short time so others can go and make visits.
  • You can work in the kitchen to prepare the breakfast meal.
  • You can stay after breakfast and clean up--preparing for the Sunday School class which meets there the following morning.

Weekly Outreach:  We meet on Wednesday nights at 6:15pm normally every week at the Cafe/Bookstore. The mission of Outreach is to:

  • Visit and encourage those who are missing from our fellowship.
  • Visit and evangelize those whom we know are not saved.
  • Visit and refresh those who are shut-in within their homes, nursing homes, rehab homes, and hospitals.
  • Visit those to whom we are referred by concerned family members and loved ones located either here or elsewhere.

Seasonal Outreach:

  • Dogwood Festival in Downtown Fayetteville
    • Berean Baptist Church had a vendor's booth on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday, May 1st.  We were able to propogate all kinds of literature and sermons on both CD and DVD for the glory of Our King.  Many, many Bereans came by th booth those two days.
  • Cumberland County Fair Hospitality Tent
    • Each September vendors from all over the region come and sell their wares and food; they operate rides and attractions at the Cumberland County Fair at the Crown Coliseum here in Fayetteville.  We make 200 sandwiches and take 200 bottles of water to the workers and vendors of the fair for four hours on a Friday night each September.  We give out CD's, DVD's and Gospel literature for God's glory.

Thanks to Sister Anne Hubbard of Blue Photography for the pictures.

We are also able to walk to the vendors and stands and offer these dear souls some refreshment free of charge (and a Gospel tract)!

We were honored to cooperate with the New South River Baptist Association for the 2nd year in a row in manning the Hospitality tent (explained above)

We were honored to have a booth close to the center of town right on Hay Street!  For two days we handed out Gospel tracts, Cd's and DVD's of our services, and Brochures for Berean Baptist Academy.
We had over 20 Bereans involved with this great city-hosted outreach that drew over 200,000 people to downtown Fayetteville.
We are already planning for next year's Dogwood Festival.  We will have three booths instead of one and we have a little better idea of how our tents should look and how many resources we should have ready.  Jesus asked what a soul was worth in Matthew 16:26.  We agree...the booth rental and cost of resources--along with the time spent by numerous BBC people does not compare with the gain of one soul for Christ's Kingdom.

Evangelism 101

Do you need training on sharing the gospel or representing your church in visitation? The fact is, Christ made it clear that all disciples are called to make other disciples.  All are called upon to be able to provide an explanation why they have a hope for eternal life. Evangelism 101 is a four-session class on the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and how we "do" outreach. We use video clips, slides, and real life illustrations to show how evangelism is more a "way of life" than another program for some members of the church. Extra classroom work is done throughout the week to reinforce learning and ensure students are learning. Every Christian needs to taught how to share their faith.  For information on this class, email Pastor Bill at bsturm.bbc@gmail.com

The next Evangelism 101 will be held Sunday, May 22nd from 1:30-5:00 P.M.
