Men's Ministry

Iron Men

The verse that guides the vision and purpose of all men's Bible studies and events is Proverbs 27:17 As "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend." Authenticity, transparency, integrity and similar words are words we believe best describe the objectives we seek to achieve when we plan a gender segregated event. Because we recognize that the family unit is the most important unit on the planet we limit the number of "men only events" we have throughout the year.

Annual Men (and boys) Retreat

The 2013 Men and Boy’s Retreat is scheduled for October 10-12; this is our most significant men's ministry event. The retreat starts with a late dinner Thursday and ends with a famous BBQ lunch on Saturday. Pastor Alan Benson from Grace Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC will be our guest speaker. He, along with Pastor Sean, will preach on “Servant Leadership” from the examples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Apostle to the Gentiles, Paul. Special lessons will be prepared for boys as well. Worship will be led by Pastor Jon and special breakout sessions will conducted to draw as much application as possible from the preaching. Sporting activities and competitions include archery, flag football, soccer, 3 on 3 basketball, chess and checkers, rock climbing, boy’s marksmanship, tubing, fishing and a 5k and 10k race.  This weekend event held at Camp Anchorage on Lake Waccamaw. Registration for the cottage rooms will begin Wednesday, August 1, 2013

Like to shoot hoops?  Our men get together every Monday night at 7.30 for open gym night. Only those who attend the chrurch may use the gym.

Prayer Breakfast

Periodically prayer breakfasts are scheduled for the men and young men of Berean meet from 9-11am on Saturdays. This is a great event to which you can invite a friend. Men dress according to what they are planning to do after the breakfast; this is definitely a no-tie kind of event. There is no cost for this event, but a collection is taken to offset the cost of the delicious food.

The Men's Softball team finished the summer league as Champions.
